Sun Room Unveils the Soundtrack of the Summer with "Outta Their Minds"

With the warmer months quickly approaching, Sun Room just released the perfect soundtrack for a summer adventure on the west coast. Embodying the energy of their predecessors, Outta Their Minds EP incorporates vintage sounds reminiscent of The Rolling Stones and The Kinks. Expanding the band’s repertoire, Sun Room’s EP builds on the typical surf rock melodies with their own spin on garage rock themes.

“Cadillac” and “Kaden’s Van,” the two lead singles from the EP, both give off a similar British Invasion vibe. “Cadillac” uses call and answer moments, a really great mixture of guitar and bass leads, and an insane pace change during the bridge. “Kaden’s Van” follows a similar pattern, but is still a reflection of their surf rock style of music. The lyrics and overall beat give the song a chaotic and bright tone.

The other two songs from Outta Their Minds are more closely related to the modern garage rock Sun Room created with this EP release. “Sunset Garage” gives off heavy retro influences, with a more groovy take on vocals, melody, and rhythm. The title track, “Outta Their Minds” jumps back into the faster paced tempo, while also incorporating a lot of stylistic choices resemblant of gritty, antiquated alt rock.

Sun Room has a constant authenticity that fans are drawn to, and engages this same vibe throughout Outta Their Minds. Following their world tour run with Louis Tomlinson and string of headline shows, Sun Room will open for Inhaler’s upcoming spring tour. The 4-track, Outta Their Minds EP will be an easy addition to the band’s well-known and congenial live performance.
