Arrows In Action are Ready to Roll "The Credits"

Arrows In Action is set to release their debut album Built to Last on May 26. The trio, Victor Viramontes-Pattison, Matthew Fowler, and Jesse Frimmel, formed in 2017 at the University of Florida and have been making music ever since. Their most recent release, “The Credits” (ft. Loveless & Magnolia Park), quickly became a favorite for their fans. We recently had a chance to speak with the band about the upcoming album while on tour with Magnolia Park.

What inspired you to start making music and form the band during your time at college?

“We all had already been playing in different bands and wanted to make music a career, so when we all met, we recognized each of us wanted to go the distance. We started playing together and never looked back!”

How has your journey as a band changed over the past eight years?

“When we first started this band it was more of a hobby on the weekend and then when Matt joined the band, we decided we would fully commit to making this our career and pouring everything we had into it. Once quarantine started, we couldn’t tour so we began live-streaming on TikTok every week and building a devoted following who remain some of our most loved and loyal fans today. When shows were possible again, we hit the road and got to meet all of our online friends and fans and they have made it possible to make this our full time job.”

What is your favorite part about making music together?

“We love how much our writing process has evolved - every song comes about differently and ends up being a collaborative effort between the three of us and whoever we invite to write with us.”

You’re currently on tour with Magnolia Park. What has that experience been like?

“It’s been amazing getting to share the stage with a band we’ve been friends with for a while and getting to know each other more on this tour!”

Do you have a favorite venue that you enjoy performing at?

“We played Gramercy Theatre for the first time on this tour and it was an incredible experience!”

What has the reaction to “The Credits” (feat. Loveless and Magnolia Park) been like so far?

“It’s been so cool seeing so many people sing along to a song we put out only a few [weeks ago] and when Josh comes out to sing his part with us on this song, the crowd erupts every time!”

Do you have a favorite moment from shooting the music video for the single?

“There’s too many to pick from, but Matt’s scene of chopping down the door in The Shining, Jesse waving to people downtown in his elf costume, and Vic running through the brush for the war scene were all some favorites.”

Are there any particular goals you have set for the band for the rest of 2023?

“Release our first full length record, headline a full US tour and reaching as many new people as we can!”

What are the three of you most excited for with the release of your debut album approaching?

“We’re so excited to play these songs live and hear what everyone’s favorite songs are from the record!”

Do you have a favorite song off the album?

“Built to Last” (Vic), “Checking In” (Jesse and Matt)

What is the future looking like for the band? Is there anything else you have planned beyond Built to Last

“We’ll be touring on Built to Last material for a while until we get back in the studio to work on our next release!”

What do you want your listeners, or new fans, to know about Arrows in Action?

“We are building a welcoming and inclusive community, and we’re here to stay.”
